Benjamin Kidder is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oncology at Wayne State University and member of the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. His research focuses on epigenetic mechanisms of stem cell self-renewal and differentiation, transcriptional networks, genome stability and cancer epigenetics, and reprogramming and transdifferentiation. Dr. Kidder graduated with honors from Saint Olaf College in Northfield, MN where he majored in Chemistry and Biology, and then performed research at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a Postbaccalaureate pre-IRTA Fellow. He received his Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology and Genetics (MCDB&G) from the University of Minnesota in 2007, followed by research as a Postdoctoral Fellow and later as a Principal Investigator at Merck/EMD Serono Research Institute in the greater Boston area. He continued his postdoctoral research in Keji Zhao’s Lab at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD.
